A word I love when it refers to art. Four very unique installations
have popped up in various locations around Memphis, TN. Three of these
seems to have a similar theme -
red. As
of this writing it is a mystery as to who created & placed these
displays. Whoever created these has given a welcome relief to an otherwise
dreadful commute on the way to our respective jobs/classes/picking
the kids up from soccer >>> |

| LOCATION:
Poplar & Highland - April 2003 |
| A
larger than life garden. Some of these "plants" are
over 10 feet in height. Materials are mixed, including metal
sheeting, wood, pipe cleaners & styrofoam |

| LOCATION:
Poplar Overpass @ Walnut Grove - April 2003 |
| Many,
many paintings on sign posts certainly litter this otherwise
small, bleak patch of grass. |

 |
| LOCATION:
Overton Park - April 2003 |
| A
real treat to local golfers, I'm sure. At first glance one might
think, "My, but aren't they getting clever with golf flags
these days?". The red in these abstract shapes cannt be
ingnored by passers-by on Poplar. |

| LOCATION:
North Parkway - April 2003 |
| From
a distance this magnificant pieces resembles a very large ball
of twine. This mass of dyed red vines on wooden platform is
at least 25 feet in diameter. Very impressive display. |
